ABOUT CUBBY
Education and Training
Cubby has studied voice from a young age, staying involved with extracurricular activities including the Georgia Children’s Chorus (in residence at the University of Georgia) and Georgia 4-H’s Clovers & Company. She began taking voice lessons with Tara Simon of Tara Simon Studios in 2011 where she studied for 9 years.
Cubby made her New York debut in 2017 with Broadway Artists’ Alliance summer intensive at Symphony Space, an off-Broadway theater in the heart of NYC, and continued studies with BAA’s summer intensives for a total of two years.
In 2020, Cubby had the pleasure of studying under Tony Award-winner Lindsay Mendez and musical theatre composer and lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver through Actor Therapy Online.
Achievements and Accolades
Most recently, Cubby was featured as a guest soloist with the Broadway Tenors at the Classic Center.
She has also been featured as a soloist at the National 4-H Hall of Fame. She was recognized for mastering in Performing Arts - General, placing first in District and State Project Achievement through 4-H.
Cubby has competed in several national vocal competitions, placing as a finalist at Classical Singer Vocal Competition (Musical Theatre) in 2015 and 2017 and receiving honorable mention two years in a row for the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition (2017-2018). After competing at Classical Singer in Boston, Cubby was subsequently invited to perform as a rising star at Ben Cameron’s Broadway Sessions (performance date TBA).
Current Engagements
Cubby stays involved in local theatre both onstage and off. Some of her favorite roles include Sandy Cheeks in SpongeBob the Musical, Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family, and Katherine Plumber in Newsies.
She is on staff as a musical director at Brightstone Productions in Watkinsville where she is also Events & Rentals Coordinator.
